Who is Madeleine?

She is an 18-year-old singer songwriter from Yorkshire, who blends girl next door chic with

raw vulnerability. Inspired by the likes of Lizzy McAlpine, Phoebe Bridgers and Joni Mitchell,

her songs are packed with teenage angst and retrospective lyrics complemented with

memorable melodies. 

She’s been gigging for over two years at local venues starting out at Open Mic nights and

has played numerous local and charity shows in the past 12 months. Most notably, she was

selected to play Live At Leeds In the City and booked for Noise in the Valley festivals in

November 2025. In December, she played her first headline show at Hyde Park Book Club

as well as performing a real-time stream for Beckview Studios’ Live Lounge session. 

She released her debut EP ‘all i wanted was time’ in April 2025, which (despite the low-key

release) caught the attention of a number of outlets, and the track ‘i wish’ was featured as

BBC Music Introducing’s ‘Track of the Week’ – she was also invited to record an acoustic

session for the station. 

Over the past six months, she’s been working on new material with a release schedule now

in place from January through to June of this year. These songs mark a change in direction

for Madeleine where she has moved to a full backing band, as well as layering strings and

organ to create a richer sound complimenting her unique vocal.  

In January 2026, Madeleine was awarded Youth Music's NextGen funding for her first album and she is already busy writing and rehearsing new material.
